"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Gal. 6:9 NIV

Camp Counselor: So, has anyone here been to a different country?"
Campers: Scattered mumbling, then, "Um, I've been to Alberta..."

Don't you just love camp? I've been on staff at a camp for eleven years, and I still can't get enough. What always mystifies me is how effective of a tool camps are. Whether it's a weekend camp in the winter, a 10-day trip to California in the spring, or summer camp, it seems to me that it's always easier to see God at camp. Our first week, we had a camper who constantly was in trouble and wasn't paying attention during chapels or during cabin discussion. I'm not proud of it, but I relieved to see him leave. Well, we just got a phone call last week. Turns out that our sister camp, Madge Lake Bible Camp, had him for a week. Once again, he spent a lot of time getting to know their camp director. One day, after yet another lengthy chat with the director, he decided to give up on doing things his own way. He gave his life to Christ. Funny thing is, that didn't surprise me. "Of course!" I thought immediately, "that's just how God works."

We give God all the glory for the work we all are involved in. We are so grateful that we are not alone in this ministry, but there are other camps, churches, lay ministers and para-church organizations that are working together to draw the next generation closer to Christ.
