Summer Camp...
As we approach summer, many turn their thoughts to summer camp. While I may be biased, I think summer camps are one of the best things going in our province, especially in the realm of reaching into rural Sask. I hear story after story of teens (many in rural areas) where they are waiting and waiting for the summer camp experience each year. For some, it is about the only Christian experience they have each year. For many of us, camps and retreats have impacted us in remarkable ways. I think if we are going to make a big impact on youth in Sask, especially in rural areas, summer camps are a key. The problem is that the church ministry realm and the camp ministry realm have not been functioning as a team very well, although that is changing. Just not fast enough for me.
